Anybody out there know if there's somewhere locally that would transfer an old VHS home movie to DVD? If not, how much would it set me back to buy one of those combos and do it myself?

no need for the combo. A scart lead and a dvd recorder would do the job..simple to do..dvd recorders are fairly cheap these days

Ill do it for ya but its business so i will charge €10 for each transfer or €45 for 5 or €80 for 10.

It would be cheaper to do it yourself

Cheers Citybone, but I managed to get it done myself by following Dunnocks' suggestion.
