Not going, for too man reasons, but if you've free-time, and haven't heard any of the following, I'd strongly advise checking out a few of the following

dEUS, Future Kings of spain, aphex twin, god is an astronaut, Unkle, echo and the bunnymen, british sea power, the national, my morning jacket, chemical brothers, the subways, Ian Brown, band of horses.

All brilliant bands/ acts.

Of course The Verve, Interpol, Kings of Leon and REM will all be great too : )

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

DO IT AGAIN is unreal.love that song.
REM should be class too. some bands are clashing like prodigy and the verve so i cant see the verve. well i can see them for 10 mins i suppose. also kings of leon are clashing with interpol and calvin harris and im going to see calvin harris.

thats not coz of the scum element in it now is it? there can be some pricks up there. i remember last year i was at the kooks and 2 lads came up to me and saw my city jacket, they were bohs fans, wearing the socks and all and tried to start on me for no reason like. i also remember qeueing for food and i heard a big thump. i looked behind me and some woman was knocked out on the floor.some guy threw a can at her for no reason.

Check out Aphex Twins "Selected Ambient Works", if you can. A quite brilliant chill-out album. He played Cork a few years ago. Shame the tool won't come back, though. It should be insane.

I saw Chemical Brothers in Dublin a few years ago. I went for the support band ( Sonic Youth) but they put on a hell of a show. Not sure too many around me knew what was going on, though. I felt like a pharmacist with all the requests for pills.

Well, partly. Also, the notion of spending a weekend in a camp surrounded by thousands of others in what, presumably, will be horrific conditions, isn't the most appealing offer I've ever had. Yes, I know....... i could stay in a hotel etc etc, but I've never been a fan of festivals, tbh.

I could make a comment about all of you deserving a beating for watching the kooks ( I had to put up with them a few years ago when I went to see Ian Brown)....but i won't. tongue.gif

i'd love to see rage against the machine, but i'd never go back to oxegen again, that camp site is a dangerous, lawless place at night time
