2010 Sports Prediction Competition

In aid of FORAS

Guidelines:

• From the list on 15 Sporting Events for 2010 listed below, simply select who you think will win each event.
• Scoring for each event is as follows: Winner – 10 points, Runner-Up – 5 points. Q12 is win-only.
• In the event of a tie, closest answer to the tie-break wins.
• Entry costs €20 per person, with 50% going to FORAS and 50% going to the prize fund.
• This completed form, plus payment, must be sent to Trevor Carey, 55 Ardmore Ave, Knocknaheeny, Cork before March 12th. Alternatively payment may be sent by PayPal to admin@ccfcforum.com with the completed form emailed to admin@ccfcforum.com
• Deadline for entries is Friday March 12th at midnight.

If possible I would urge as many people as possible to circulate the application form to people who you think would be interested in taking part and encourage them to sign up - family, friends, work colleagues etc. This competition is open to anyone who wants to enter. Money raised goes to a very good cause that we're all aware of, FORAS.

Does the prize allocation go:

30% - 1st Place
15% - 2nd Place
5% - 3rd Place?

Good idea to have 50% going to the prize fund instead of a set prize. Helps attract more people and covers yourself from making a potential loss.

Hopefully we'll be able to make a good bit of cash off this.

That will depend on how many enter and hence how much there is for a prize fund.

Are there many people interested in this?

Entry forms were handed out at the meeting last night. For anyone who didn't get one, the links to download the entry form are in post #1 of this thread.

I'l def enter again but will leave it to the last minute...in case anything changes,,,
If history is to teach us anything, it is that Cork Football clubs live a perilous existence. It is essential that we the supporters are there to pick up the pieces the next time! There WILL be a next time.

I would think alot of people will leave this until the last minute, as things could change with individual tennis players getting injuries etc..

Lots of people in work at the moment are asking me about shennanigans going on at Cork City at the minute when normally they speak about Celtic, Man U, Liverpool etc... The penny has finally dropped with people (who have no interest in LOI) what TNB is like.
The entire offfice gets paid on the 28th. I will be leaving entry forms on all there desks on the night of the 27th and then chasing them for the next few days.

We really all need to be hitting up friends and relatives for this also.

We'll never die, we'll never die, Cork City Football Club, WE'LL NEVER DIE

This is only a game of football, we win it, we lose it. So what? People who think that are blaspheming. This game means everything to each and every one of us. We’d do anything; we’d give anything to be out there on that pitch playing and we dread the day when that is taken away from us. So we stock up on our glories, keep them treasured – right here – in the hope that one day they’ll keep us going because they are our lives. If we lose our football we are dead men, you’re going to look back on today – it’s going to be one of your treasures. ‘Cause we are going to hold on and withstand everything they throw at us and we’re gonna win. We don’t die today gentlemen, we go out there and we live forever in the memories of those who took part and those who came to see – forever! Yeah? Yeah!

I have at least 8 guys lined up in work for this, but Im giving them another week or two to get the forms filled up,
They are all off doing their research on it,
But I promised not to take the best answers out of them before I fill in my own form :P
PROUD TO SUPPORT FORAS
There is no use worrying about things over which you have no control, and if you have control, you can do something about them instead of worrying.

I've just realised that the closing date is 6pm the night of the Waterford match.
I know there are time constraints with the F1 the next day, but surely they'll be someone taking entry forms and money at the match.
This was how I was planning on entering and i would of thought there would be a few more as well.
4-4-2 and we're 'avin a laugh

Everything was planned before CCIFL was liquidated, before FORAS took over the running of the club and more importantly before fixtures were announced.

Entry forms will be accepted at the Waterford game and after the game (there will be a post-Waterford fundraiser announced in the coming days).
