You have managed to screw up what could have been a great night for football in this country. You have ruined what should be a fantastic occasion for both Glens and Cork City fans.

There is not much you can do about this now BUT

There is one thing you can do. Hand back your tickets, all the freebies for yourselves and your friends and let them be sold to REAL fans. Fans who deserve to see this final and fans who you have robbed this chance from.

Do the right thing, for once

There'l be the few aimed at Glens as well as a few commemorating the year Id imagine. Ideas?

Some from other threads:

You think you're British youre having a laugh
You're Irish and you know you are
We dont want you anyway(in response to GSTQ
Youre next queen is Camilla parker Bowles(in response to GSTQ)

We dont care if youre Catholic, we dont care if youre prod
At Cork City football club religion means nothing at all
**** All(in response to anything sectarian)

Or

We dont care if, we dont care if youre prod
At Turners Cross your gonna win nothing at all
**** All

Poor I know but anyone else have ideas?

I think the cup final would be an appropriate time to show our appreciation for the manager, players etc for this seaosn. Theyve gone above and beyond since we got into this mess and many of them could be gone next year.

I think they deserve some sort of display at the start 'Legends of 2008' or the like. Its a year that will never be forgotten but one where hopefully we can finish on a high.

Would be a boost for the players before the game and good for the clubs image showing the solidarity thats been there all year to the country. Its the first cup final here in a good while. lets make a big show of it

Ideas?

Anyone driving back the night of the game?

Flying up but cant miss work so have to get back that night. Only other option is midnight bus to Dublin and then citylink at 6am to Cork......doesnt sound like fun.

Thanks

The hall of fame this year is on the 11th of October in the Metropole hotel. I'm sure everyone that was there last year can testify that it's a great night out with food and entertainment included in your 20 euro.

Given what we've gone through this year it should really make us sit up and be grateful for events like this, where we get to honour and celebrate City legends along with other fans.

This Hall of Fame falls 4 days after we find out our fate in the high court. As Im not even considering the alternative, this sets up the night to be one of great celebration for all City fans. Celebrating both the legends of our past and the fact that we will ahve legends to celebrate in the future.

I'd ask everyone who can make it to come out and show everyone what our club is about, its not just games its a sense of identity and pride. The legends of our past have supported us in the last few months, many of them coming out in the media doing so i.e. Morley, or joining FORAS like Davy Barry. Tihs to me has shown what CCFC really is about. TO some people these are simply former employees, but former employees dont care that much. These people are legends and should be honoured as such, just as the team of today will be in the future, one we are very lucky to have.

I wasnt around in the days of these legends, but I see these hall of fame nights as an integral part of our identity as a club. Its obvious how much is means to the players who have been inducted, and I will do everything I can to support these nights so that I can do the same for the legends of current times in the future, not many deserve it more.

By the 11th of October we will have been to hell and back, as Im sure there are twists and turns to come, but then it WILL be time to celebrate and look to the future.

And the basis of this should be investing in ourselves, the people who care. An easy way to do both is this event, as all proceeds are going to FORAS.

So if you can make it, make the effort. Bring a friend, girlfriend, boyfriend etc and enjoy a great night out. If you cant make it, buy a ticket anyway, ensure this event is still going strong in 23 years time and strengthen your stakehold in the club at the same time through FORAS.

I know a lot of people have given a lot of money to FORAs and the club in recent times, and supported many events. Many are broke from it. But think of it this way, put away just over a euro a day between now and then and you have it paid. And you get fed smile.gif

I hope that we make this the biggest and best Hall of Fame yet, show everyone that CCFC is still around and we're here to stay, and celebrate the people who got us here and the fact that we have a future.
