It's between Lewis Hamilton & Felipe Massa as to who's crowned F1 World Champion this weekend.
Hamilton is leading the standings by 7 points going into this race, so only needs to finish 5th or higher to clinch the title. Qualifying takes place tomorrow at 4:00, where Hamilton has been dominant in, throughout the latter part of the year. Rain is expected throughout the weekend too to add to the excitment of the final race. For Massa to win, Hamilton will need to make another monumental mistake. He did it last year when Raikkonen took the title in spectacular fashion, but I doubt he would be stupid enough to risk doing something that might put him out of the title race this time. The rain should makes things interesting. Hamilton has been good in the rain so far & Massa has had some decent wet performances but also some disasters (ie Silverstone). I just hope Massa wins it. Can't stand Hamilton or his crazy driving style which is far too aggresive, so much so that some drivers have spoke out it against recently, most notably Robert Kubica (who IMO has been the driver of the season).

Just as a matter of interest, when was the last time a game was postponed in the cross due to a waterlogged pitch?
I imagine the last time must have been during a Winter season years ago.

Fairly intense fighting going on in the region of South Ossetia. Fighting broke out yesterday & now Russia have moved into Georgia itself & claims to have taken over the South Ossetian capital Tskhinvali. Looks like this could escalate further before things calm down a bit.

Amid all the speculation about who City may get in the UEFA Cup draw, it may have gone un-noticed to some that the Champions League draw also takes place tomorrow at 12:00 CET (11:00 over here), with Drogheda placed in the seeded pot.
IMO Drogs will need a relatively easy draw here as they have been very unimpressive & not showing any consistency so far this season. Although the fact that they are seeded should see them get a favourable draw no matter who they get. Hopefully we won't get a repeat of Derry's awful run last year where they fell at the first hurdle to FC Pyunik who are possible opponents again this time round. Seeded teams: NK Dinamo Zagreb (CRO) FC Artmedia Petržalka (SVK) NK Domžale (SVN) IFK Göteborg (SWE) Anorthosis Famugusta (CYP) Tampere United (FIN) FC Dinamo Tbilisi (GEO) FK Ventspils (LVA) FK Rabotnicki (MKD) FK Modriča (BIH) FBK Kaunus (LTU) FC Sheriff (MDA) Drogheda United FC (IRL) Valur Reykjavík (ISL) Unseeded teams: FC BATE Borisov (BLR) FC Levadia Tallinn (EST) FK Inter Baku (AZE) KS Dinamo Tirana (ALB) FC Pyunik (ARM) FK Aktobe (KAZ) Linfield FC (NIR) Llanelli AFC (WAL) NSÍ Runavík (FRO) F91 Dudelange (LUX) Valetta FC (MLT) FK Budućnost Podgorica (MNE) FC Santa Coloma (AND) S.S. Murata (SMR)

Tomorrow they are taking on Rhyl of Wales at Dalymount.
The return leg is in Wales a week later. They have a really good chance of actually being one of the 11 winners this year, as they have a relatively easy draw compared to other Irish clubs in recent years. The form they are showing at the moment may help them achieve this too. I expect a comfortable win for them at home as Rhyl are out of season & I'd say will not be able to cope with Bohs potent attacking play. Good luck to Bohs anyway for the upcoming European campaign! |
