Big Brother 9

I'm amazed that there hasn't been a thread started on this yet.

It's been a particularly good season, mainly because they've returned to the original idea of populating the house with relatively normal people and avoiding the circus it had become, although I have to say that I'm intrigued by Darnell, the african american albino and that Lisa one is just loopy.

I'm really just starting this thread to see if it gets more hits than the thread about the Charles Darwin series or than that one about Seinfeld, a little experiment I'm performing.

New York

Everybody else is doing it for lake Garda and Amsterdam....

I have to go to New Jersey with work for a while fairly soon. I'm hoping to spend evenings and weekends in New York. I've never been so any recommendations would be welcome. If anyone can recommend anything in New Jersey, I'm willing to listen!

So far on my list I've only got:

Museum of Modern Art
US Open Tennis at Flushing Meadows, nice timing.
NY Giants at Giants Stadium
(assuming I can get tickets to the above).

Tomorrow could be a day that defines our season.

It's the opening of the transfer window, so we could be losing Joe Gamble. The knock on effects of that have been well discussed. We could also be saying goodbye to Colin O'Brien, who's been a magnificent servant to the club. We might lose a few fringe players, Softic, Kelly and Mulcahy if rumours are to be believed. We will hopefully be saying hello to a few players, if Arkaga give Mathews the neccessary financial support.

UEFA Cup first qualifying round will reveal how big a test Alan Mathews will face with a club now expecting some level of european success, even if that's just to get through a round. Last season, our performance away to Hammarby finished the defence of Rico with a lot of people. Carmarthaen won't be acceptable for us.

Then there's a game in the league cup away to Drogs. Personally, I don't care about it, but I'm sure all at the club will want to keep the recent good run going. Since the first series of games ended we've won four and drawn one of our five games and have moved up to third in the table, we've also taken on the mantle of the league's highest scorers.

It wouldn't be a bad day to reveal the new CEO to the public either, the transfer window should be a busy period and it'd be best to have our manager focused on the upcoming games rather than dealing with contracts.

The General Football Section

I know that section is called 'General Football' and that people can discuss whatever they want, but has anybody noticed a huge increase in the amount of Premiership football threads recently?

It seems we get a thread started on games between every non-entity in English football these days. This morning I find out that Villa -v- Birmingham and Newcastle -v- Sunderland are worthy of their own threads, as is 'Rafa' getting legal advice.

During the off-season, I can get over it, there's not much to discuss in CCFC terms and it's silly season on what there is to discuss, but we're slap bang in the middle of our season and I'm getting grumpy.

Worst Start since 2001

This has been our worst start to a league season since 2001.
