After playing GAA all my life and soccer for about 6 years, since i have moved away from both clubs, i've been thinking quite alot recently about chaging codes for a year or two and go play in the local rugby team.
Reasons I still play football(GAA) when i go home the odd weekend so not keen on transferring clubs. Plenty of lads i know playing the oval ball game Want to get back playing some sort of competitive sport while i still have a few years in me Problems Never played it before poor upper body strength Scared of getting a ridiculous rugby nickname, getting highlights in my hair, being forced to drink H-Bombs and having to dump my respectable long term girlfriend for a hockey playing blonde. Any rubgy lads on here (Wigsa?) have any tips for training etc? Definite some sort of back (5 foot 9) i am but at 27 is it too late to get into playing a new sport? My buddies think its not but i think it's just cause they cant wait to kick the hell outa me in training.. I have about 4 months before their preseason starts. |
